Dividend = Divisor × Quotient + Remainder
L.H.S = y³ - 8
R.H.S = ( y - 2 ) ( y² + 2y + 4 ) + 0
= y ( y² + 2y + 4 ) - 2 ( y² + 2y + 4 )
= y³ + 2 y² + 4 y - 2 y² - 4y - 8
= y³ - 8
L.H.S = R.H.S
HENCE , PROVED
