Manures are ecofriendly organic substances which can increase soil fertility, water retention capacity and absorption rate of the soil. These do not pollute the environment. Fertilisers are the chemicals which supply nutrients to the soil. Fertilisers are inorganic salts. Fertilisers add minerals like potassium, phosphorus and nitratesto the soil. Fertilisers also have negative effects on the soil and environment. Fertilisers polluting water: *As the fertilisers are not perishable completely, they are present in the soil.   They affect the porosity and the water holding capacity of the soil. During excess rains, water from agricultural fields is washed away into rivers along with soil containing fertilisers. In this way, fertilisers pollute water. Fertilisers affect the aquatic organisms and make it unfit for drinking. On a long run fertilisers also cause bio-magnification. *Certain fertilisers like phosphogypsum emit dangerous radiations into the ecosyste. Organisms exposed to these radiations are affected by various diseases.

manures are more advantageous then fertilizer because manures are organic and doesn't have any chemical content in it.
