Size of image, h' =Size of Object,h

m = −v/u = h'/h = 1

or v = −u

Now, using the mirror formula,

1/f = 1/v + 1/u

1/(−f) = 1/(−u) + 1/(−u) = 2/(−u)

[Object distance is always taken negative and the focal length for a concave mirror is negative]

or u = 2f

Thus, the object is placed at a distance '2f' i.e. at the centre of curvature.
