Using prime factorisation, fi nd the HCF and LCM of:
(i) 8, 9, 25 (ii) 12, 15, 21 (iii) 17, 23, 29
(iv) 24, 36, 40 (v) 30, 72, 432 (vi) 21, 28, 36, 45​

i) 8= 2×2×2

9= 3×3

25= 5×5

H.C.F. = 1

L.C.M.= 2×2×2×3×3×5×5

=1,800

ii) 12= 2×2×3

15= 3×5

21= 3×7

H.C.F. = 3

L.C.M. = 2×2×3×5×7

= 420

iii) 17= 17×1

23= 23×1

29= 29×1

H.C.F. = 1

L.C.M.= 17×23×29

= 11,339

iv) 24= 2×2×2×3

36=2×2×3×3

40=2×2×2×5

H.C.F. = 2×2=4

L.C.M. = 2×2×2×3×3×3×2×5

=2,160
