I think the question is wrong

it should be 3x2-4x +1 instead of -1

then the solution will be

3x2-4x+1=0

3x2-3x-x+1=0

(3x2-3x) -(x-1)=0

3x(x-1)-1(x-1) =0

(x-1)(3x-1)=0

x=1 and 1/3

x =  ( - b \: \frac{ + }{}  \sqrt{ {b}^{2} - 4ac })  \div 2a \\  \\ 3 {x}^{2}  - 4x - 1 = 0 \\ a = 3 \\ b =  - 4 \\ c =  - 1 \\  \\ x =  \frac{ -( - 4) \frac{ + }{}  \sqrt{ { - 4}^{2} - 4(3)( - 1) } }{2 \times 3}  \\ x =  \frac{4 \frac{ + }{} \sqrt{28}  }{6}  \\ \\  x =  \frac{4 + 5.293}{6}  \\ x = 1.549 \\  \\  x =  \frac{4 - 5.293}{6}  \\ x =  - 0.215 \\  \\
