Step-by-step explanation:

if put the value of x equal to -1 .

then the value of equation = 0

regards factor theorem (x+1) is factor of this polynomial.

so,

after devide (x+1) to 2x³+ x² - 2x - 1 value is x²-2

so ans is( x+1)(x²-2) or can be (x+1)(x+√2)(x-√2) also

because x²-2 also be factorize in form of (x+√2)(x-√2)
