So , by remainder theorem (x-1) is one of its factor.

Now , dividing p(x) by x-1 , we get quotient as x²-2x-3

These two are remaining two factors of p(x).

p(x) = (x-1)(x+1)(x-3)

= (x+1)(x-1)(x-3)
