✪ Reminder theorem ✪

Let p ( x ) be a polynomial of degree 1 or more and let \alpha be any real number . If p ( x ) is devided by ( x - \alpha ) then reminder is p ( \alpha ) .

✪ SOLUTION ✪

Let , x - 2 = 0.

Then, x = 2

Now,

P ( x ) = x³ + 3x² - 5x + 4

P ( 2 ) = 2³ + 3 × 2² - 5 × 2 + 4

P ( 2 ) = 8 + 12 - 10 + 4

P ( 2 ) = 24 - 10

P ( 2 ) = 14

Hence,

The reminder is 14.
