 \frac{x}{a}  +  \frac{y}{b}  = 1

then,

slope of AB= slope of BC

(b-0)/(0-a)=(y-b)/(x-0)

b/-a=(y-b)/x

bx= -ay+ab

bx+ay=ab

dividing both side by ab

x/a+y/b=1
