(If all terms are of same sign add their magnitudes and put the sign they had before addition, if terms are of different sign subtract them and put the sign of number larger in magnitude.) we get,( - 5-3-4/5)+(7/10+3/7+5/14)

-44/5+104/14=-44.14+104.5/70=-576+520/70=-524/70=-262/35.
