I was breathing heavily and panting. I was also sweating profusely. A dog barked in the distance. The men were closing in on me. I knew I had to act fast to avoid being kidnapped.
They drew out their weapons and started shooting. I heard a bullet ricochet against a wall. I quickly climbed over a wall and darted across a lawn. A woman was hanging her laundry and she screamed upon seeing me.
Her husband came out with a shotgun. He shot at the men chasing me and they returned fire. The husband immediately fell down on the porch. The woman screamed hysterically. Neighbors had heard the shots and the police had been called.
I continued running as fast as I could. The men were relentless in their pursuit. I hoped that the police would soon come to my rescue.
