Given :   y = p(x)  graph

To Find :   number of zeroes of p(x)

Solution:

Number of Zeroes are number of time curve intersects x -axis

but there is a special case where it just  touches x - axis and bounces off the axis then zeroes are of even multiplicity.

Here graph y = P(x)

intersecting at two points and touching x axis at one point

hence total zeroes  = 2 + 2 = 4

number of zeroes of p(x) are 4
