Using the idea of particles explain why you can pour liquids?solids expand on heating?

we can pour liquids because :

1. Firstly they are fluids.

2. molecules of a liquid have more intermolecular spaces between them as compared to solids. But they cannot leave the surface of the liquid . but if you tilt tour container then they flow from higher to lower level as they somewhat have a transational motion.

Solids expand on heating because they have vibratory motion in their molecules . So when they are heated their molecules acquire sufficient energy to overcome the force of attraction and hence the solid expands and change into liquid
