The identity is (a+b)^2=a^2+b^2+2ab
(a-b)^2=a^2+b^2-2ab
203^2-197^3=(200+3)^2-(200-3)^2
(200+3)^2=40000+9+2(200)3
=40009+1200
=41209
(200-3)^2=40000+9-2(200)3
=40009-1200
=38809
203^2-197^3=(200+3)^2-(200-3)^2
=2400
