Using the valencies, write down the chemical formulae of the following compounds:

Quick lime : The compound formed by the chemical reaction between Calcium and Oxygen or by the oxidation of Calcium is called quick lime .

The valencies of Calcium and Oxygen are given as 2 for both . Since , calcium is a metal , it'll act as cation and Oxygen is a non-metal , it'll act as anion .

Ca : Valency → 2

O : Valency → 2

When the valencies of both elements are crossed against each other , they cancel themselves and the formula formed is CaO .
