1) SARS-Cov2 is evolved from MERS virus. They both shares a common genue. SARS-Cov2 was the result of the mutation of the pre-existing SARS viruses. And this mutation helped them survive and withstand for longer time and also helped them regenerate faster. This is based on Darwin's theory of Natural Selection. Natural Selection is a process by which heritable traits conferring survival and reproductive advantage tend to be passed on to the next generations and become more frequent in a population.
