Weight of block = 4 kg

( Resting on a smooth horizontal plane )

If it is struck by a jet of water

The weight of water = 2 kg

Speed of water = 10 m ) s

Initial acceleration of the block = ?

The initial acceleration of block = F / m

= 2 kg s-¹ × 10 m s-² / 4

= 5 m s-²

so , the correct option is ( d ) 5 m s-²
