  • The substance formed in addition to water when acid and base react with each other is called salt.

Acid+Base→Salt+Water

  • Salt is a substance which is formed after a reaction between an acid and a base. When acid is very strong and base is weak then after reaction the salt will be acidic, such as- NH4NO౩.If both the acids and bases are weak strong then the salt will be neutral.

  • Sodium carbonate is popularly known as ash or washing soda. It has the chemical formula Na2CO3. On the other hand, sodium bicarbonate is represented by the formula NaHCO3 and known in layman's term as baking soda.. Sodium carbonate is a stronger base compound and is diprotic.
