median =( 5th term+6th term)/2=(13+11)/2=24/2=12

Answer:

The median is 12

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that there are 10 observations arranged in descending order, the 5th and 6th terms are 13 and 11 respectively.

we have to find the median value of all the ten observations.

As there are 10 observations arranged in descending order,

But to find median we have to arrange the observation in ascending order

To arrange in ascending order the terms are reverse i.e

5th term will be 11

6th term will be 13

Median of data is the number that is halfway into the set.

As number of observation are even therefore to find median we have to find the average of 5th and 6th observation.

Median=\frac{5th\thinspace observation+6th\thinspace observation}{2}

Median=\frac{11+13}{2}=\frac{24}{2}=12

Hence, the median is 12
