To solve for "t" means to make "t" stand on it's own. And to do that, we remove every obstacles blocking "t"

V=v0-g×t

V = v0 - gt

subtract v0 from both sides

V  - v0 = (v0 - v0) - gt

V - v0 = gt

Now, "g" still block "t", so we divide via by "- g"

-\frac{V - v0}{g}  = \frac{gt}{g}

t = -\frac{V - v0}{g}
