Answer:

Cutting down of trees is known as deforestation. The consequences of this action have been vocalized in every platform in each corner of the world. Yet there are still people carrying out this activity. These are some of the disadvantages of cutting down trees.

First and foremost, the immediate effect and noticeable change that is observed when trees are cut down is the loss of visual attractiveness of the land. All that is left are stumps that are not pleasing to the eye. The green overview of the area is lost and the place loses its beauty. All that is left is a sight that should not be beheld.

Secondly, when trees are cut down, the soil is left bare. The remaining part of the tree dries up and the roots no longer hold the soil together. This leaves the soil exposed and in danger of being eroded by the agents of soil erosion i.e. water, wind, animals. This will lead to soil erosion and washing away of the top layer of soil. From the many types of soil erosion the land will lose its fertility and not be able to give life to any green life.
