When there is an appreciation in the foreign currency then due to this there is an fall in its demand in domestic country because the local people have to pay more for that same foreign currency for a unit.
here there is the basic concept of law of demand is needed which is that,
when prices of a commodity(say currency) rises then its demand is decreasing, and when the price of a commodity is decreasing then its demand in the domestic country is rising because the local people can buy that same currency at cheaper value.
