electro magnet(विद्युतचुंबक) is made by using a soft iron core material in the solenoid. and when current is passed through it. it magnetised and work as electromagenet. but soon it works when current is flowing.. but if we use copper instead of iron it will become permanent magnet... so iron is used. it has many practical uses such as removing waste from eyes ...thanks hope it helps
