Vaccination is the most effective way to protect against infectious diseases. Vaccines strengthen your immune system by training it to recognise and fight against specific viruses. When you get vaccinated, you are protecting yourself and helping to protect the whole community.

Reason for insistance on vaccination is -

1. Vaccines mimics the antigen that can cause disease. Introducing these replica of antigens into the body is capable of producing immune response. As body can't distinguish between the original covid-19 virus and this replica.
2. Now the immune response produced is stored in the body in the form of memory cells. Similar to other responses for which we have been vaccinated in childhood, like small pox, polio etc.
3. In case of real infection, our body already knows how to fight corona virus, thus immune response will be sudden and will provide maximum protection in compared to unvaccinated state.
4. Most important point here is, primary response takes 14 days. In case of corona virus infection, 14 days response can be lethal, without medicine. While secondary response is in 3 - 4 days. This helps the vaccinated people to combat covid-19 and hence it is insisted upon to get vaccinated.
