Vaccum cleaner works on the principle high pressure-low pressure. Vaccum cleaner creates low pressure by sucking in air. There is comparatively high pressure outside. This makes dust and other parricles get attracted towards the vaccum cleaner. Vaccum cleaner sucks in all the dust and other particles.

Vacuum cleaners work because of Bernoulli's Principle, which states that as the speed of air increases, the pressure decreases. Air will always flow from a high-pressure area to a low-pressure area, to try to balance out the pressure.
