Subject: Prevention of mosquito-borne diseases

Sir:

I am writing to bring to your kind notice the poor state of water stagnation caused by poor sewage and drainage system in our colony. Last year mosquito-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue, and chikungunya took heavy toll of human life. There were 20 fatalities recorded.

The sewage and drainage systems need to be repaired so that there is no stagnation of water on which the mosquitoes breed. However, in spite of repeated requests, reminders and complaints, no action has been taken to relive us of our distress.  We the residents have taken all the measures such as not allowing any water to stagnate in or around our houses in any form. But the water stagnated on the roads is beyond our power!

I on behalf of the residents of the entire colony appeal to the concerned authorities to look into the matter and take prompt action as the rainy season is not very far.

Yours truly,

Vakul Sharma
