Answer:

I remember when I was thinking about what I wanted to say in my valedictory speech. I kinda loved every moment of high school. I savored the books we had to read. I had the best looking notes because I typed everything and figured out how to use MS Office to the hilt. When I wasn’t doing school stuff I was building circuits and RC cars and potato guns, exploring the storm drains and construction yards, digging on the internet for MOD music… I was into a whole bunch of stuff over those years; life was just so rich. I found myself interested in everything I was doing so achievement came naturally. The one thing that always irked me was, whenever we would get a paper or exam back, the first thing my high achieving friends and peers wanted to know was what grade everyone else got. That really annoyed me. I’ve never been a competitive person and I’ve never been competing with anyone. So I wanted to say that it wasn’t hard to achieve a top GPA, in fact I loved every minute of it. And that’s what everyone should do, follow your interests, because that’s what leads to achievement.

At the end of the day, I graduated third so I didn’t get to give that speech. Edged out by an ex girlfriend and her boyfriend, the one everyone acknowledged as the smartest guy in the class.
