Answer:

Valency of Boron in BH_{3} is 3

Explanation:

Borane (BH_{3}) is a lewis acid having one boron atom and three hydrogen atoms.

Lewis structure of Borane shows that each hydrogen atom is bonded with boron using a single bond and no lone pairs around it. therefore it is sp_{2} hybridized and forms a trigonal planar shape.

so electron configuration of Boron:

_{10}B^{5}→[He] 2s_{2} 2p_1}

The Valency of Boron in BH_{3} is 3

(note: BH_{3} exists in dimer state (B_{2} H_{6}) then valency of boron in borane turns into 4 and has a tetrahedral structure)
