IT WAS DECIDED THAT ANGLE OF ELEVATION OF THE TOP OF THE COMPLETE PILLAR FROM THIS POINT TO BE 60 DEGREE. CONTRACTOR FINISHED THE JOB BY MAKING A PILLAR SUCH THAT THE ANGLE OF ELEVATION OF ITS TOP WAS 45DEGREE. A] FIND THE HEIGHT OF THE PILLAR TO BE INCREASED AS PER THE TERMS OF CONTRACT. Let the decided height of pillar be H m
∴ tan60° = H/100
⇒H = 100√3 = 100×1.732 = 173.2 m
now, the contracter made pillar of height of h m
∴tan45°= h/100
⇒h = 100 m
A) height to be increased = 173.2 - 100 = 73.2 m
B) No, he is not justified with his words,
that means he is a dishonest contracter
