SOLUTION :-

→ (a+b)² + (a-b)²

★ We know ,

  • (x+y)² = x² + y² + 2xy
  • (x-y)² = x² + y² - 2xy

Here , x = a , y = b

Putting values , we get..

→ [ a² + b² + 2ab ] + [ a² + b² - 2ab ]

→ a² + b² + 2ab + a² + b² - 2ab

2a² + 2b²

Hence , (a+b)² + (a-b)² = 2a² + 2b²

MORE TO KNOW :-

★ (x+a)(x+b) = x² + (a+b)x + xy

★ (x+y)(x-y) = x² - y²

★ (x+y)³ = x³ + 3x²y + 3xy² + y³

★ (x-y)³ = x³ - 3x²y + 3xy² - y³
