★ Mean free path can be represented by l or lembda

★ where,

L =k.T/ √2 × π× P × d^2m


L = mean free path

dm = molecular diameter

m = mass

it can be seen that mean free path displays linear proportionality to ttemperature and inverse proportionality to pressure.

→ if at 1 atm pressure mean free path is L then at 5 atm pressure it must be 1/5L
