3rd option always zero.

HARI2503: and why do you think that its 3rd iption??
Rushikesh20011: because at reaction is at equilibrium
HARI2503: but its reversible reaction.
Rushikesh20011: its not matters whethe reversible or not but given that it is in equilibrium.
HARI2503: okay. thank you

Answer. Option (3) always zero.
From the relation, ∆G = - RTlnK.
In equilibrium, the rate of forward reaction is equal to the rate of backward reaction.
So, here, K= K forward/ K backward = 1.
Thus,putting in equation, ∆G = - RTln1 = 0 (ln1=0).
Thus, the value of ∆G at equilibrium is 0.

Rushikesh20011: complete answer
PrernaR: The answer is complete.
HARI2503: fine. thanks a lot for helping me.
PrernaR: Ur welcome.
