In given quadratic equation,
4 {x}^{2} -  4k + k = 0

,comparing with
a {x}^{2}  + bx + c = 0
Here,
a=4 ,b=-4,c=k

 {b}^{2}  + 4ac
=
( - {4}^{2}) + 4 \times 4 \times k
= 16+16k

But ,the by the equation of roots are real and equal,
delta =0

16+16k=0
16k=-16
k=-16/16
k=-1

Hope it helps you!
