If quadratic equation has equal root then α = β

Sum of zeros = α + β = 2α = \frac{-(-k)}{2}

                     

Product of Zeros = α² = k/2

Since,

Sum of zeros = Product of zeros

2α = α²

∴ α = 2 = β

∴ Product of Zeros = α² = k/2 = 4

∴ k = 8

∴ ANSWER → k = 8
