Value of polynomial = 120 .

Given :-

  • The polynomial is 7x⁴ + 3x² - 4
  • x = -2

To Find :-

  • Value of the polynomial.

Solution :-

Let p(x) = 7x⁴ + 3x² - 4

If x = -2 then the value of polynomial is p( x = - 2)

p(x = -2) = 7x⁴ + 3x²- 4

=> p(x = -2) = 7(-2)⁴ + 3(-2)² - 4

=> p(x = -2) = 7 × 2⁴ + 3 × 2² - 4

=> p(x = -2) = 7 × 16 + 3 × 4 - 4

=> p(x = -2) = 112 + 12 - 4

=> p(x = -2) = 120

Therefore, the value of polynomial is 120.
