$\frac{x}{4} + \frac{1}{2} = 4 \\ = > \frac{x}{4} = \frac{4}{1} - \frac{1}{2} \\ = > \frac{x}{4} = \frac{8 - 1}{2} \\ = > \frac{x}{4} = \frac{7}{2} \\ = > 2x = 7 \times 4 = 28 \\ = > x = \frac{28}{2} = 14$
