Putting x+k=0
x=-k
Putting x=-k in given polynomial,
-k³+k³-2k4=0
-2k4=0
k=0

Hi friend!!
x+k is a factor of given polynomial.
x+k = 0
x = -k
Put x = -k,
x³ + kx² - 2x⁴ = 0
→ (-k)³ + k(-k)² - 2(-k)⁴ = 0
→ -k³ + k(k²) - 2k⁴ = 0
→ -k³+k³ - 2k⁴ = 0
→ -2k⁴ = 0
→ k⁴ = 0
→ k = 0
Hope it helps...
