no I don't agree with this statement because
two figures are similar only when their corresponding angles are equal and corresponding sides are equal in ratios.
but in two rectangles always ratios of corresponding sides are not all equal.
for example let two rectangle
one ABCD where AB= CD= 3cm ,BD=AC=5cm
and PQRS where PQ=RS=2cm ,QR=PS=7cm
here if we are going to find ratios of corresponding sides then they will not be equal.
