vanity leads to one's downfall illustrate with two examples
Answers
Samuel Butler, a great author says,"The truest characters of ignorance are vanity, and pride and arrogance." Vanity always leads to one's fall. The history is proof of the fact that vanity never ever won hearts; rather it lost everything it had. Helen of Troy, Cleopatra, Napoleon, Hitler, etc all suffered from one form of vanity or the another, all of them had their fall. Vanity actually is man's incomplete perception of the totality of life. Truly great people overcome their vain passions and become humble knowing well all their achievements could not have been possible without Nature or God's help. Vanity is a form of narcissism. A deep understanding of the laws of the world make it absolutely clear that man dies nothing. We live in a world whose source is invisible or imperceptible. There are two types of people in this world. Ones, those who know the world deeply , and shed vanity. The others who remain on the shallow levels of life and die chasing vain pursuits. Mrs Packletide was one such character, who on account of her vanity suffered a heavy loss, not of money alone, but self-esteem, and reputation also. If she had resisted her vain temptations, she could have lived a normal life. She would remain peaceful. However, her vanity brought her fall. So the best course of action for one and all is to live wisely and keep vanity at way by being practical, focused and busy doing higher things of life.
