Solution:

Formula for variance in case of AP  is  

d² (n² - 1)/12

d = common difference

n = number of terms

there is no significance

n = 50

=> Variance =  d² ( 50² - 1)/12

= d² (2499)/12

if d = ±1

=> Variance = 208.25

if  d = ±2

=> Variance = 833
