Variation is useful for the survival of species over long time. But the variants have unequal chances of survival. Explain this statement.
Answers
Variation is important for any species because
it allows the species to adapt to a changing environment.
So a species could move poleward, or to higher altitudes.
When that does not work variations help individuals survive in harsher conditions, and adapt to the changes.
as variations maybe useful for survival for organisms but some times variations unequal the survival chances as we can take the example of the beatles as they were of red colour and they were easily eaten up by crow as the variation occured then they changed into green colour which help them to hide themselves from crow as the bushes were also of green which hided them from crow and increased their survival expectancy but later variation occured and they changed their colour into blue and again they were easily seen and eaten up crow......
