=(4x-x)/4

=3x/4

and expenses on book= 2/5 of 3x/4

= 3x/10

amount left with him= 3x/4-3x/10

=(30x-12x)/40

=28x/40

=7x/10

or, 3x=180×10

or, 3x= 1800
