Varun takes a certain no. of roties during lunch, but always waste half a roti. Rosa takes half the no. of roties as Varun, and always finishes her share. After 20 days, if the no of roties that were consumed during lunch by them together is 120(excluding the roties wasted) then find the no. of roties per meal that varun and rosa take. How many roties were wasted in 20 days?​

Every day Varun waste's 1/2 roti ,

So in 20 days he will waste 20 * 1/2 = 10 rotis .

As they have consumed 110 rotis in 20 days , they have taken 110 + 10 = 120 rotis. (10 are wasted).

Let Rosa eat x rotis and Varun eat 2x rotis .

So x + 2x = 120

⇒ 3x = 120

⇒ x = 120/3

⇒ x = 40

So Varun eat's 80 rotis (2x) and Rosa eat's 40 rotis (x).

Therefore, Varun eat's 80/20 = 4 rotis per day and Rosa eat 40/20 = 2 rotis per day.
