vector A has a magnitude of 10 units and point due west and vector b has same magnitude and due to south ..find a-b vector
please tell me the answer

a-b is

= 10^2 + 10^2 + 2.10.10 cos ( 180- 60 ) as becoz it will point to south west

=100+100+200 cos 120

= 400× -1/2

= -200 ( ans)

see we have for any two vectors the resultant as-

R^2 = A^2 + B^2 + 2 AB cos theta (for A-B)

->>> R ^2 = 100 + 100 + 200 cos 0 ... cos 0 cuz angle btwn the two vectors is 180*

-> R=20units
