Given :  Ved spends 40% of his prize money of Rs 6000

He spends the money in the following  ratio:- clothes: books: musicCDs = 10:2:3

To Find : the amount hespends on music CDs.

how much more he spends on clothes as compare to books

Solution:

Ved spends 40% of his prize money of Rs 6000

= (40/100) 6000

= 2400

clothes: books: music CDs = 10:2:3.

Clothes = 10k

books = 2k

music CDs = 3k

10k + 2k+3k = 15k

15k = 2400

=> k = 160

Clothes = 10*160 = 1600

books = 2*160 =    320

music CDs = 3*160 = 480

amount he spends on music CDs.  = RS 480

more he spends on clothes as compare to books = 1600 - 320  = 1280 Rs
