∴ (x - 3) = 4 × (x - 6)

⇒ x - 3 = 4x - 24

⇒ 4x - x = 24 - 3

⇒ 3x = 21

⇒ x = 7 years ← Rohit's present age

∴ Veena's present age = x + 3 = 7 + 3 = 10 years

Thus, the present age of Rohit is 7 years and Veena is 10 years.
