Due to completely Frozen ground, it is difficult for plants to grow and survive in this region. Mosses, dwarf shrubs, sedges, grasses, lichens, stunted birch trees and wild flowering shrubs grow here. The tundra is also recognised as cold desert due to barren land, cold weather and scanty rainfall. In summers, the vegetation starts growing and the land becomes bright with some flowers. In tundra climate trees cannot terminate the roots into permafrost.
