The valves prevent the backward flow of blood. In arteries, the blood gushes through them with a great speed (3.0-26 ml/min). Since the blood is flowing through with such a high speed, there is no possibility of it going backwards, hence, there is no need for valves. However, in veins, the blood does not flow with a high speed and moves moderately slow (1.2-4.8 ml/min). There is a risk of the blood flowing back in veins and mixing with the oxygenated blood, hence there are valves present to prevent the backflow of blood.

Arteries do not require valves because the force with which the blood is pumped from ventricles into arteries is enough to make the blood flow in the right direction ....
whereas
In veins, the blood is coming from other organs so no force is there
The blood should not backflow
That is why valves are present in veins
WHICH HELP TO KEEP THE FLOW OF BLOOD IN FORWARD DIRECTION ONLY AND DOES NOT ALLOW IT TO GO BACK
HOPE IT HELPED! PLSSSSSZZZ MARK AS BRAINLIEST!! :)
