first of all let's find the acceleration between 4ms^-1 and 10 ms^-1

time = 2s (3-1)

v = u + at \\ 3 = 1 + 2a \\ 2 = 2a \\ a = 1m {s}^{ - 2}

let's find the initial velocity

v = u  + at \\ 4 = u + 1 \times 1 \\ 4 - 1 = u \\ 3m {s}^{ - 1}  = u
