Velocity
v = at +-
of a particle is given by expression
where t is time taken and a, b, c are
t+C
constants then a, b and c have dimensions
(A) M’LT 2, M'LT', MT2
(B) M°L'T?, M°L'T', M°LºT!
(C) M'L'T2, M°L°T°, M'T
(D) M'L'T 2, M'LT', M°L°T°

Answer:

Two terms can be added or subtracted if their dimensions are same.

Thus c has the dimension of time i.e.  [T]

Dimension of v and at must be same.

Thus dimensions of [a]=[t][v]=[T][LT−1]=[LT−2]

Dimensions  [b]=[v][t]=[LT−1][T]=L
